Step 1: Understanding PacerMonitor
PacerMonitor is an online service that provides access to legal documents filed in federal district courts across the United States, including those in Pennsylvania.
It complements the official Public Access to Court Electronic Records (PACER) system by offering a more user-friendly interface and additional features.
Step 2: Register for a PacerMonitor Account
- Visit the PacerMonitor website.
- Click on the "Sign Up" button typically found at the top-right corner of the homepage.
- Fill out the registration form with your details, including a valid email address.
- Follow the prompts to complete the registration process and set up your account.
Step 3: Searching for Pennsylvania Federal District Court Cases
- Log in to your PacerMonitor account using your credentials.
- Use the search bar to enter relevant keywords, case numbers, or party names related to Pennsylvania federal district court cases.
- To narrow down your search, select Pennsylvania as the jurisdiction from the available options.
Step 4: Viewing and Accessing Documents
- Once you find the case you're interested in, click on it to view detailed information.
- PacerMonitor provides a list of available documents related to the case. Click on any document to view more details or download it. (see picture above)
- Keep in mind that downloading certain documents might incur a fee, as per PACER's pricing policies.
